English Speech Contest 2017

(organized by the English Education Committee)

Kaichi International University held its fourth annual English Speech Contest on Saturday, 28 October 2017 during our Haku-Gakusai School Festival. Congratulations to all the participants on their fine speeches! Each year the contest is open to all current students with an audience compromised of students, faculty, and members of the general public.

The theme of this year’s contest was “Information and Communication Technology Shaping Our Lives” and the seven students who passed final selection delivered their speeches on the various ways in which ICT is both positively and negatively influencing our day-to-day lives. The topic of this year’s contest is significant because it is one of the three key principles of 21st century education at our university along with English for international communication and active learning.

The contest organizers from the English Education Committee would like to express their gratitude to everyone involved and, in particular, to KIU President Hideko Kitagaki for her on-going support of our contest over the years. Once again, congratulations to the winners and thank you to all the contestants for your hard work and participation in this year’s contest!
